My name is Laura Kane and I am an Assistant Professor of Fashion Design at Framingham State University in Framingham, MA. I earned my PhD in Design and the Near Environment from Oregon State University in 2017 with a dissertation titled "Why Cosplay? Motivations behind participation and use of social media among cosplayers who maintain Facebook Artist pages."
My creative scholarship has been showcased at the International Textiles and Apparel Association's 2017, 2016, 2014, 2013 and 2012 conferences and Costume Society of America's 2013 and 2015 annual conferences.
My research projects have been presented at the 2014 Design Principles and Practices annual conference and the International Textiles and Apparel Association's 2015 + 2014 annual conference.
